During my recent stay at Chouchinya in Nozawa Onsen, I was truly impressed by the warm hospitality of hosts Toshi san and Tomoko san, who made every effort to ensure our comfort despite the language barrier. The cozy rooms, equipped with air conditioning and free WiFi, offered a comfortable retreat after long days spent skiing, and I particularly enjoyed the traditional Japanese breakfasts that fueled my adventures. The location was nothing short of ideal; just a stone's throw from the Chuo bus station and local restaurants, making it easy for me and my companions to immerse ourselves in the vibrant culture of this charming town. Having access to ski storage was a convenient feature, allowing us to focus on our skiing endeavors without the hassle of lugging gear around. The delightful onsen-style communal shower added an authentically Korean experience, although do keep the schedule in mind when planning your daily routines! Chouchinya provided exceptional value for money, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow travelers seeking an authentic Japanese experience combined with the thrill of outdoor adventures.
